Travel Services

Northeast Pediatrics provides a full range of health services for young international travelers. We offer pre-travel fitness evaluations and individually tailored advice regarding specific health risks and ways to minimize such risks while traveling. We provide a full range of immunizations recommended for travelers and offer expert advice in prophylaxis against malaria. We also perform specialized evaluation of illnesses that may have occurred during or after travel overseas. Dr. Bradshaw and Dr. Snedeker are both board-certified in Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and have special training and expertise in this area.

If you are interested in a pre-travel consultation, please be sure to schedule the visit at least 3 to 4 weeks prior to departure, in order to allow adequate time for pre-travel immunizations and a thorough evaluation of any medical conditions (for example, asthma, allergies or orthopedic problems) that may create additional risks while traveling.

Adoption Services

Adoption of a child presents unique circumstances, challenges and rewards for new and experienced parents alike. At Northeast Pediatrics, we offer pre-adoption consultation for parents who are considering adoption in general, or adopting a specific child, especially a child who may be adopted from another country. We are not affiliated with any specific adoption agency, and can provide advice that is independent, personal and confidential.

We assist prospective parents in evaluating information they may have been given about a child they are interested in adopting, including birth and medical history, information regarding growth and development, and immunization records. We help prospective adoptive parents in deciding what to bring and what to prepare for if traveling overseas to adopt a child, including prescription medications and medical supplies.

We also provide a comprehensive initial evaluation of every newly adopted child, including screening for infectious diseases, medical conditions and developmental disabilities, and we re-evaluate each newly adopted child frequently for unanticipated medical or developmental problems that may not be apparent initially.
