    An excellent website maintained by the Nemours Foundation and the AI Dupont Children’s Hospital
  • KidsGrowth.org
    A website that attends to the growth needs of children and adolescents. Contains useful information for parents in a user friendly “filing cabinet of resources”

    CDC’s interactive health information site for kids
  • Star Sleepers!
    For kids and parents alike, dedicated to growing star sleepers. Provides interactive activities and goal setting for kids to become great sleepers

Nutrition/Healthy Eating/Exercise

  • WIC Program of Tompkins County
    Link to Tompkins County WIC program with information about eligibility criteria and WIC Clinic schedules
  • Eat a rainbow
    Tips and printable charts to encourage kids to eat “a rainbow” of fruits and vegetables
  • We Can!
    A national program from the NIH designed as a one-stop resource for parents and caregivers interested in practical tools to help children 8-13 years old stay at a healthy weight
  • Max’s Magical Delivery: Fit for Kids
    FREE DVD from Dep’t of Health and Human Services and Discovery Networks, targeted to children ages 5-9 and their families. The DVD offers suggestions to:
    - Try to eat five fruits and vegetables a day
    - Get away from the TV and computer screens and move around
    - Find fun ways to be physically active inside and outside
    There is a separate section for parents on small, achievable steps they can take to encourage these healthy habits in their children and themselves. Endorsed by the AAP.
  • USDA Food Pyramid
    Official website of the new (and a little confusing) pyramid, with lots of downloadable charts and diaries to help you keep track of what you and your children are eating
  • Kidsnutrition.org
    From Baylor College of Medicine, a great website with many helpful tips for parents. Also has a “healthy eating calculator” to determine how much is enough for your child.
  • Eat Well, Live Well
    A comprehensive nutrition website from the Canadian Dietician Association
